Fundy National Park/Hopewell Rocks

“I see my path, but I don't know where it leads. Not knowing where I'm going is what inspires me to travel it.” -Rosalia de Castro

The other day, we went on a 5km photo hike through southeastern New Brunswick. If you know me, you know I like to visit historic sites and provincial parks, and I have been all over Canada doing so. So I figured since I was from NB, it was time to visit Fundy National Park. We started into it with no idea what was ahead of us, and ended up walking 5 km over rocky terrain, through streams and brooks, just to see a waterfall.  It's funny because on the way we had a conversation how, even though we don't believe in the Christian religion, it must be nice for them that no matter where they go, they have people to relate to, and a sort of sanctuary in the churches.

On our hike we met a lot of very nice people, chatted with them and learned where they are from. Once we got to Hopewell Cape, the sun was going down, so I started to run. I was actually racing this old french couple. There we were, all running through the forest like idiots,  trying to get to the same place, to see the same thing, for the same spiritual experience us nature lovers would die for. Then I started thinking...THIS is our religion, and the parks are our sanctuaries. I hope you enjoy the photos!

  1. I have to say, living here in NB, I have taken for granted the natural beauty of the province. Ashley, once again, you have made those places look spectacular! You can take a PIC!!!! AWSOME!
